STEP 1 – IN-HOME MEETING: Your solar consultant will design and present you with the best solar plan for you and your home. After that, our work begins! You will be assigned an Account Manager for your solar project, who will help to keep your project moving and answer any questions you may have along the way.
STEP 2 – SITE EVALUATION: Our team will survey the exterior of your home and interior of your attic to verify structural and electrical specifications for the solar plan we created for you. To keep your project moving quickly, we may survey the outside of your home first so that we can get to work on your final system Design plan, and schedule a subsequent time for a brief attic check. (1-5 days after In-Home Meeting; if necessary we’ll schedule your attic check for a later date.)
STEP 3 – DESIGN: Our team takes the information from the Site Evaluations and turns it into a system design, which you will be sent for review by your dedicated Account Manager. At this time we’ll also ask you to complete any necessary paperwork for the remaining phases of your project, if any. (2-5 days after Site Evaluation.)
STEP 4 – APPROVALS: We apply to your city, utility and homeowners association (if applicable) for permission to complete your solar installation. (2-12 weeks after Design depending on your jurisdiction, HOA and utility requirements. Note: If your home is part of an HOA, approval may take an additional 30 days or more.
STEP 5 – INSTALLATION: Our team of expert installers manages the installation of your system from start to finish. Installation typically takes 1 to 3 days. (1-2 weeks after receipt of all Approvals.)
STEP 6 – INSPECTION: We perform our internal quality assurance audit and complete all necessary inspections with the city and utility. (1-2 weeks after Installation.)
STEP 7 – SYSTEM TURN-ON: We request final permission from your utility to turn your system on. Once approval is granted, we schedule a time to start your system and show you how it works. (2-8 weeks after Inspection completion depending on the utility. Permission time varies by utility. SCE/SDG 2-4 weeks; E/LADWP 4-8 weeks)
The solar installation process can typically take between 1 to 2 months complete (however, we have completed installations in as little as 3 weeks!). Remember, we handle the entire process from start to finish, leaving you with more free time and a lot less worries. We will be with you every step of the way! Although the installation process can be confusing, we are always accessible and here to help. If you have any questions, please call my mobile office at (619) 535-1798 and ask for Phil White. We want you to understand exactly what is occurring at each stage of the process.
